Services / Budgets
SRG Productions takes a systematic approach to producing your video. We like to breakdown the process into four production phases:
► Step 1: Planning your corporate video
► Step 2: Pre-production
► Step 3: Production
► Step 4: Post production
1. Planning your corporate video
In Step One, the goal is to determine the purpose of your video. Any effective communication is determined by its clarity of purpose. Your corporate video should be created to convey one single message, promote one single product or service, or express one singular idea or goal.
In this step, SRG Productions will perform a Program Needs Analysis. This will identify the instructional design elements and set the foundation of your video. Determining costs involved to produce your video are also discussed. This portion of the project is also known as the Research and Development phase.
2. Pre-production
In Step Two, the goal is to develop a treatment, also known as the outline. The treatment is a narrative description of how the program will appear on screen. It includes the program objectives, audience profile, and concept. The treatment describes the concept and sets the tone for the entire program. Budgets, talent selection, music, graphics and location decisions will all be based on the treatment. The next step is to write the script. As the script is being developed, visuals will be selected and the story board will be developed.
3. Production
In Step Three, the actual production takes place. We focus our attention on the equipment operation and working with the crew and talent. In the production phase, we record the talent on location, record studio insert shots, produce graphic elements, record voice narration, and record music and sound effects.
4. Post production
In Step Four, after all the source material is recorded, we begin post production. The first portion is the edit. Editing brings all of the random recorded shots into a coherent story that matches the script. A rough edit is performed first, then the final edit.
To begin the process of creating a successful video, a Research and Development Agreement is signed between SRG Productions and the client. The R&D agreement covers Step One and a portion of Step Two in the production process. We will help develop your content and produce a treatment for the production. The R&D Agreement does not cover the scripting process.
To complete Steps Three & Four, production and post production, SRG requires a Production Agreement. The Production Agreement specifies the length of the video program, hours of scripting, days on location, talent fees, and hours of post production editing. Script writing can be included in the Production Agreement or contracted separately.
When you're ready, SRG Productions can submit a R&D Agreement. This is the start of the video production process and incurs the smallest expense. Once the treatment is approved and the budget is in place, SRG Productions can submit a Production Agreement based on the approved treatment.
